The village Guneku is one of the 29 villages that constitute the Meta clan and being one of the villages of the MEDIG Zone (Central Meta) bound by the villages of MBEMI to the south east, NYEN to the SouthWest, WUMNEMBUG to the East and CHUPto the North. Guneku shares boundary with the villages of Tugi, Tudig and Zangtembeng, Oshie, Mundum and Bafut clans. The village head of Guneku isHRNFomuki, the 2 ancestral son of Fon. Fominyen of Nyen, the first being Fon Mbacham ofWumnembug.. guneku is a 2 class Fondom, one of the 5 in Mbengwi Sub division. There are 27 Quarters that make up the village Guneku. Guneku in terms of land surface is the largest in the Meta clan and has the biggest population.

The People Receive The Returning Fon. …A Public Coronation
On the 28 Of January 2015, the Fon of Guneku, Fon Patrick Fomuki the II, left the palace on an emergency call to a long journey. About a month latter he returned but promised to present himself to the people to tell them what news he brought back at a much later but very appropriate time. That time is the 30TH of December 2016. This presentation to the people of Meta in general and Guneku in particular by the Fon is so packed with meaning and expectation that the people are leaving no stone unturned as they prepare to receive the Fon back home and especially, listen to the message he brought back from that emergency journey. The Fon and the people of Guneku intend to use this God-given opportunity to usher in a new era in the Guneku village way of life and to stretch out a much needed hand of fraternity and solidarity to the entire Meta Clan.

Guneku Royal Community Library
This is the Guneku Royal Community Library, established by Guneku sons and daughters mostly those abroad in 2021. It has computers, photocopier, printer, projector. All are solar powered. It offers long term and short term computer training programs and computer holiday classes for pupils and students.

The sum of 470.000F was in the afternoon of Friday August 26 2022 distributed as scholarships to some class 6 pupils of P.S Mbengwi Annex Guneku for their outstanding performance in the 2022 Common Entrance and First School Leaving Certificate Exams.
